Ladies L.Y.F.E. 2010
“Through life, women become’ great pretenders’ in order to fit in or to be liked.Don’t live without thinking.Live purposefully.”
Those are the words of one lady who attended the Ladies L.Y.F.E. conference this year.LYFE stands for “Living Your Faith Everyday”.And indeed we were challenged to do just that.Here are another lady’s thoughts on what she learned: “Don’t assume that you are walking by faith in every area of your life.Think carefully about all areas of your life and believe God for each of them.”
The theme this year was ‘Straight Talk for Real Life’.We listened to teaching on mentoring, spiritual warfare, Moms raising boys, husband and wives’ battle with sexual sin, the value of your mind, and leading a home Bible study, to name a few of the workshops.We were impressed by the quality of the teaching and its practicality and application in our lives.
“I was challenged to not think about myself all the time.It’s not about me, it’s about God.Pray and show mercy to those who don’t deserve it.”
The LYFE hour speakers challenged us to face the sin in our lives. We need to confess it and receive forgiveness, and then go forward to walk with the Spirit.
They asked us to recognize what is real, that is, God’s truth.Ecclesiastes contains pertinent advice about life.
“I was reminded of who I am in Christ.I am accepted in the beloved and clothed with Christ.I am okay, because Christ is my righteousness.”
“Merciful people get an extra blessing.‘Mercy triumphs over judgment.’ (James 2:13) In light of what God has given me, which is everything, I need to forgive the hurt others have caused me.”
