Senior Pastor - Gary DeHaas
We are excited that Rev. Gary DeHaas has accepted North Baptist' Church's call as Senior Pastor. He, his wife, Deby, and son, Ian, moved to Corning at the end of February, 2008.
Pastor Gary is a 1979 graduate of Glen Cove Bible College in Glen Cove, Maine (now known as New England Bible College). He has 21 years of pastoral experience serving as youth pastor. Pastor of Christian Education and Interim Senior Pastor in churches in Vermont, New Jersey, Michigan, Nebraska and Pennsylvania. He and his wife Deby have 4 children and 2 grandchildren.

Associate Pastor - Brandon Schmidt
Pastor Brandon Schmidt is the new Associate Pastor of Youth here at North Baptist Church. He comes to us from Ocean City, NJ, where he served for 4 years as Director of Youth Ministries at the Ocean City Tabernacle. Pastor Brandon has a B.S. in Bible from Philadelphia Biblical University, and is in the process of completing his M.Div. He has been married to Megan Schmidt for 2 years, and they have a cute Goldendoodle puppy named Rollins.

Pastor Emeritus - Rev. Earl Whittaker
Before becoming the pastor of North Baptist Church in 1982, Pastor Whittaker served as a missionary to Brazil for 20 years with New Tribes Mission. There he worked with Indians and later taught in a Bible school which prepared Brazilians for tribal ministry. He is a graduate of Baptist Bible College of Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Marilyn, have four married daughters and fourteen grandchildren.
Pastor Whittaker retired June of 2006 and is now serving with Barnabas International as a "pastor to missionaries and Christian workers". He and Marilyn now reside in Maryland. |
